Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 9:57AM BurgerFi is the new burger place in Winter Park. Thankfully, they were able to actually lease one of the forever-vacant spaces at the south end of Park Avenue (formerly Downeast Orvis). I say thankfully because this end of the avenue has been very quiet for a long time because most of the block was vacant, save for the wonderful Café de France - that had to operate all alone. This new business has instantly brought foot traffic - and life - back to this part of the street (with plenty of outdoor seating). They have also brought a fast-casual concept to the street, giving hurried diners more options. BurgerFi's philosophy involves serving hormone and antibiotic-free beef along with craft beers, wine, and custard (that's their version of ice cream) in a sustainable atmosphere. It's definitely a hit with locals, Rollins students, and families. The kids love the super-cool touchscreen fountain machines - and the ice cream bar. If you want to go old-school, you can even order a bottle of Coca-Cola made with real cane sugar (not high fructose corn syrup). I say try the onion rings, and you can get your burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun - if you're watching carbs and gluten. Have you been BurgerFi'd?

I think they did a fantastic job with the design. Notice the cool meat hook lighting fixtures below.
