My name is Darraugh and I started this blog to share my health and wellness experiences - and how those have changed the way I view life. I'm a design enthusiast with a love for vintage treasures. I believe in sustainable living, and work to learn more and be better every day. I enjoy documenting life through photographs. And I'm forever in love with a place I once called home - New York City. I'm a professionally trained pastry chef with a MBA in International Business, and the spirit of an entrepreneur. inspiration: the non-traditional headboard

I've been seeing some really great examples of non-traditional headboards such as a beautiful rug, an old door, salvaged shutters, windows...and even this traditional Moroccan wedding blanket.

When I repainted our bedroom a few months ago, I was in the mood to try something new. We decided to try a platform-style bed, and I found this expandable garden lattice at Home Depot and thought it would make a great headboard (among other things). What do you think? Would you, or have you tried a non-traditional headboard in your space?

I've seen some amazingly beautiful rugs that would look great on the wall - like the Pliant Laurel rug from Anthropologie.
